• VESP attempts to meet the total energy requirement of remote unelectrified village through the generation of electricity from biomass.
  
  

• The programme envisages setting up of a biomass gassifier to generate electricity, electrification of all the households, plantation to augment the biomass required for the gassifier, construction of biogas plants and improved chullahs
  
  

• The assets and day to day running of the gassifier is managed by the Village Energy Committee.
  
  

• Of the 13 sanctioned projects in the State, 9 villages have been electrified.
